The Collection includes audiovisual recordings (audio and video) recorded between 1980 and 1989 of Andy de la Tour and others (including Alexei Sayle, Rik Mayall, Pauline Melville, Maggie Steed) in various locations including London (Elgin, Pentameters) and Belfast; set lists; contracts (for Andy de la Tour and Alternative Cabaret); press coverage and promotional material; and photographs. Admin history | Andy de la Tour is an actor, writer, and comedian. In the early 1980s he performed as part of Alternative Cabaret, a collective of politically motivated stand-up comedians, musicians and actors. He also performed solo comedy shows, as well as in shows with comedians Ben Elton and Rik Mayall, and also appeared in television programmes such as The Young Ones and Bottom. In 1983 he hosted An Evening for Nicaragua. |
