Description | The Oliver Double Collection is part of the British Stand-Up Comedy Archive. This collection contains audio recordings created and recorded by, or collected by, Oliver Double. The collection includes audio interviews with comedians and those involved in stand-up comedy recorded between 1988 and 2012 for Oliver's PhD ('An approach to traditions of British stand-up comedy'), for the publications 'Stand Up! On Being a Comedian' and 'Getting The Joke: The Inner Workings of Stand-Up Comedy' (first and second editions), and for contributions to New Theatre Quarterly. The collection also contains audio recordings of Oliver Double compering at the Last Laugh Comedy Club, Sheffield (1994-1997), off-air recordings of appearances on radio programmes, recordings of comedy shows attended, and recordings of the University of Kent's Eliot Comedy Club (called 'Monkeyshine Comedy Club' from 2004) recorded 2001-2011. The collection also includes scripts, notes and props from the 2015 stand-up show "Break a Leg", performed by Oliver Double. |
