The event is presented by Messrs. Chapman and Hall, Ltd., Dickens' original publishers
Contains an advertisement for donations to "Pickwick Pensions", a scheme founded by the Newsvendors' Benevolent and Provident Institution to provide help for distressed members of the industry and their families
The programme also lists personnel of the Ladies' Committee, programme and chocolate sellers, names of those businesses who have donated money to the MatinΘe and a list of acknowledgements.
Also contains an advertisment for six colour illustrations of scenes from Pickwick Papers on sale in the theatre
Also contains other various printed advertisements
This first dramatic piece was preceded by Mozart's Finale-Symphony in 'D', directed by Mr. Richard Crean
Also featured in the production were various extras playing the Jury and the crowd in the court
Only the first act of THE ONLY WAY, an adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities, was performed
This dramatic piece was preceded by a greeting to the audience by Mr. Pickwick, played by Bransby Williams and an interval with music played by The Palladium Orchestra
The programme indicates that following this second dramatic piece, "Sir John Martin Harvey will auction a pair of decanters which were the property of the late Charles Dickens"
Also featured were various extras starring as dolls, crickets and cricket fairies
A printed note states "The banner bearers are pupils of the Bedford College of Dancing, and appear by special permission of Miss Mildred Bult."
Also, a printed note states "All Costumes have been made to Dickens's descriptions and from the ORIGINAL illustrations, by the Dickens Fellowship Costume Department
Also included is a printed list of the Pageant Sub-Committee, who are Jane Bacon, Walter Dexter, Frances Joly and Doris Minards
The programme contains a printed message from Mr. Phillip Inman, Chairman of Charing Cross hospital, explaining the work performed at the hospital and requesting donations
