Description | Minutes of the Weekly Meeting of the Chapter, held on Friday, 15h September, 1939. The following items were discussed - Minutes of the previous weekly meeting. Air raid precautions (A.R.P.). Evensong. Staff. Cathedral boxes. Report of Sacrist on Cathedral work and dtaff. Date of next meeting. These minutes include a "statement made by the Dean to the Sunday morning congregation on September 10th" about the role of Canterbury Cathedral in the provision of air-raid protection, the protection of its fabric and treasures, and the continuation of services during the war. |
