DescriptionThe remainder of the file contains correspondence relating to the affairs of the King's School, mainly in the early years of John Shirley's time as Headmaster. Much of the correspondence is between Shirley and Johnson, but there are also relating to a boarding house and a new Choir School. There is also an undated petition from about 300 King's School pupils deploring Johnson's statements. about the Soviet Union and Hungary; contextually it dates from the time of the RussIan Invasion of Hungary n 1956.; Correspondence concerning the gift of a bust of Dr Pusey for display in the Cathedral (1932), the Ypres Memorial in the Warrior's Chapel (1935), and the dedication of the Cenotaph Flag and other flags (1943).
