Description | 1 book with paper border, a leather spine and leather corners. The items are stuck into the book on pages which are mainly loose. Some of the play bills are in poor. Items consist of 3 playbills for the Tunbridge Wells Theatre, 2 for the Theatre Royal, Canterbury, 1 for Taunton, 1 for Maidstone, 1 for the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and 1 for the King's Theatre, London. The King's Theatre playbill gives details of Edmund Keans farewell performance previous to his departure for America. No year date. The letters and play bills are mostly concerned with Mr. Dowton's benefit. Press cuttings include a series of reviews for THE WAY TO GET MARRIED at Drury Lane with Mr. Dowtons son as one of the actors. Also articles from Kentish newspapers. There are also publicity posters advertising Mr. Dowton's benefit. |
