Description | The Monica Worth Collection contains theatre programmes from the 1940s and 1950s, mainly from theatres in London (including the Garrick, Globe, Savoy, Theatre Royal, and Wyndham's) and also from Bristol, Brighton, Eastbourne, Norwich, and Stratford-upon-Avon. |
Admin history | The Collection was deposited by Mary Streater, daughter of Monica Russell (nee Wigglesworth). Monica was an actor in the rep, and went by the stage name Monica Worth. She collected programmes from the stage plays she went to during the 1940s and 1950s in London. Other programmes from opera and ballet were also offered but it was felt these would be better suited to other archival institutions. |
