Description | The Senate is responsible for the academic work of the University. Its principal committees include, Academic Strategy, Planning and Performance Board, the Education and Student Experience Board, the Research and Innovation Board, the Graduate and Researcher College Board, the Research Ethics and Governance Committee and the Honorary Degrees Committee (Joint Committee of Senate and Council) Senate is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and currently comprises 59 members. Members include the Deputy Vice Chancellors, Directors of Divisions, the Dean for Europe, the Dean for Internationalisation, the Dean of Graduate and Researcher College, Portfolio Directors, Elected Heads of academic schools/subjects, Elected Academic Divisional representatives, Professional Service Directors, Chair of Research Ethics and Governance Committee and student representatives. Senate holds four meetings per year. |
