Description	The Academic Planning Board was appointed by the Sponsors and had three main functions: 1) to produce a plan for the academic development of the University; 2) to recommend a candidate for appointment as Vice-Chancellor; 3) to produce a draft Charter and Statutes for submission to the Privy Council. The Academic Planning Board first met on 26 Sep 1961.
