Description
Letters from Bar (Barbara) Weatherill to her parents, 29 September 1940 - December 1944. These letters are not a complete series, but chance survivals. The first one appears to have been written when Bar was at school or college in the Lake District and the rest when she was in the Wrens and based at Porchester, with several giving a description of a leave spent with a friend in Scotland. The letters are written with long descriptive passages about the scenery and invariably the writer is in good spirits and clearly enjoying her life.
