Concerns the resignation of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister and the motion by the Opposition of no confidence in the Government. Annotations by Weatherill include a quotation from Lord Roseberry about politics being 'an evil smelling bog'. Includes a note from Neil Kinnock warning Weatherill of the motion of no confidence, a personal note from Margaret Thatcher in reply to his letter of regret on her resignation, a copy of the statement of resignation which Weatherill has marked 'a bombshell', a list of possible speakers in the no confidence debate and correspondence with Cranley Onslow on the order of speakers. Also includes a copy of the 'Daily Mail' for 23 November containing many photographs and tributes to Margaret Thatcher.
