Description | This video is a recording of the 40th anniversary lecture of the Hansard Society held in the Banqueting House in Whitehall. Weatherill, as President of the Society, chaired the session in which four past prime ministers addressed the audience. The speakers were Lord Home, Lord Wilson, Edward Heath and Jim Callaghan who all pay tribute to the accuracy and usefullness of Hansard. Heath and Callaghan also make observations on the contemporary nature and pressures on democratic government. |
