Description
This video is an interview of Weatherill, made in 1991 and broadcast on Tyne Tees Television in January 1992. The interview is conducted by Eric Robson and also contains footage of proceedings in the House. Weatherill portrays himself as the protector of the backbencher and compares himself to a headmaster of the school and the conductor of a national orchestra. He talks on various themes including the standard of behaviour of MP's, the powers of the Speaker, the advantages and changes brought by the presence of television in the House.
