DescriptionThe film documents the changes of the 120 acre site from a derelict area to a park, which includes a playground, walkways and wildlife areas on the sites previously occupied by a former sewage farm and civil defence buildings. A short speech is made by Councillor Ernest Noad, Chairman of the Parks and Recreational Services Committee about the improvements. The film also shows the opening of South Norwood Park on 13 May 1989, with Weatherill making his speech on horseback and later touring the site with the Mayor.
