DescriptionThe film covers various events during Weatherill's visit as Speaker of the House of Commons to Pakistan. He visited Lahore, Pashawar, Karachi and Islamabad and much of the film is taken up showing Weatherill in conversation with various political leaders in the local and national Assemblies. The tape includes an interview of Weatherill by Professor Sajjad Naseer on a television programme broadcast from Lahore, called 'Visitors Book'. In the interview his opinions are sought on democracy, the legacy of the British in Pakistan, the difficulties of maintaining the Speaker's position of neutrality, and Weatherill makes frequent reference to his experience in Pakistan during the war and his parliamentary career in Westminster.
