DescriptionMr. J. W. Manuel, born 1903, interviewed in Canterbury. His father was a waggona (died 1906), and mother was an orphan who went into service, later supported family by laundry work in workhouse. He was the eldest of two girls and two boys. Jobs included farm boy, page, ship boy etc.
