Description | Mr. C. Marks, born 1888, interviewed in Deal. His father was a butcher (died 1901), mother helped with buisiness accounts (had 2 maids). He came from a family of two boys. Jobs included obliged at early age to help in buisiness, delivering, driving. Then a slaughter house in Margate, Chatham Dockyard, then joined cavalry (Buffs). His mum kept pub later. |
