<dc:description>Material relating to the marriage between Dion Boucicault and Anne Guiot, especially the date, place and manner of Anne Guiot's death. Item 1 -- certified copy of the marriage certificate of Dion Bourcicault [sic] and Anne Guiot, at the Parish Church of St, Mary Lambeth, Surrey, on 9 July 1845;. Item 2 -- 1 letter from a correspondent at the Schweizer Alpen Club, responding to an enquiry from Christopher Calthrop about the death of Anne Guiot in a mountaineering accident between July and December 1845; the correspondent has found no information and refers Calthrop to the Neue Zuericher Zeitung;. Item 3 -- 1 letter from a researcher at Chambers Encyclopeadia providing Calthrop with the address of the registry of deaths in the Paris area and with an organisation where French wills may be held, presumably in response to a query about Anne Guiot's will;. Item 4 -- 1 letter from the Swiss Federal Archive, referring Calthrop to the papers of the then ambassador to Switzerland, David Morier, and to several cantonal archives, still regarding the possibility of Anne Guiot's having died in Switzerland;. Item 5 -- a letter from the Librarian of the Stadtarchiv Aachen reporting on an unsuccessful search for information about Anne Guiot's death; this suggests that Calthrop came to believe that Anne Guiot died in or near Aachen (Aix la Chapelle);. Item 6 -- a letter from the Archives du Department de la Seine et de la Ville de Paris informing Calthrop that they don't hold death records for Paris and referring him, as he believes that Anne Guiot died in a mountaineering accident, to the archives of the appropriate Swiss cantons;. Item 7 -- a negative response from the Directeur General des Archives de France in response to an enquiry from Christopher Calthrop about the last wills of Dr. Dionysius Lardner and Anne Guiot, explaining that it would be necessary to know the name of the notary who has received the will.</dc:description>
