Black and white image of Hewlett and Nowell Johnson seated on a sett… Black and white image of Hewlett and Nowell Johnson seated on a settee with Madame Chou En-lai. She is presenting them with fans. This scene was taken at the guest house where the Johnsons were entertained during their visit to Peking in May 1964 and the occasion is also shown in CH6435. It is probable that this is the same lunch party as that featured in CH6435 and Ch6441 and mentioned in Nowell's diary as being on 29th May. 29.5.1964
