<dc:title>Family letters from Jack Weatherill to his parents at home, September 1940 - December 1943</dc:title>
<dc:description>Family letters from Jack Weatherill (Bruce Bernard Weatherill) to his parents at home, September 1940 - December 1943. The bulk of these letters date from the period after October 1942, when his sisters had left home and Weatherill deceided to write to his parents, rather than to 'everyone' at home. In this respect they follow on from the series catalogued as WEA/C F1. The subject matter is very similar, though relating to his army life in India, with some comments on the progress of the war elsewhere. There are also more comments on the life of the family, such as his sister Barbara's engagement. He continues to write weekly, but it is clear that the postal service continues to be erratic and he commonly complains of the difficulties of writing becuase of the amount of noise from his colleagues and the quantities of flying insects.</dc:description>
