  <dc:title>Mr Speaker's Engagements</dc:title>
<dc:description>Diary sheets listing the engagements, offical and semi-offical of Weatherill as Speaker of the House of Commons. The lists include meetings at Westminster with his staff, with other members of Parliament, with individuals and groups from his constituency, with the media and with foreign dignitaries visiting London. The diary also includes his lunchtime, evening and weekend engagements in London and elsewhere, with notes on the attendence of Mrs Speaker, travel arrangements and dress. In addition to the timings for Weatherill sitting in the Speaker's Chair, parliamentary business is indicated by annotations in Weatherill's hand of the bills, expected divisions, and topics for question time. The file contains programmes, menus, invitations, guest lists, briefing notes and correspondence about engagements for the week with arrangements for entry of visitors to Westminster and Speaker's House. Included are daily diary sheets for Weatherill's engagements and a copy of the Conservative Party Whip, with notices for the week. As with the diary sheets, papers are frequently annotated by Weatherill and others and include some material reflecting his private and business interests.</dc:description>
