Video of 'How Parliament Works', 4 February 1991 This video was produced by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office at the instigation of Weatherill for the use of the British Council and other overseas organisations as a basic guide to the operations methods of Parliament. The film includes interviews with Gareth Wardell, Marion Roe, Weatherill, Sir David Steel and Sir Bernard Braine, who give their views on various parts on the parliamentary system. It covers the role of the MP's in the constituency and the House of Commons; the functions of elections, the Cabinet and the Opposition; the progress of bills through the stages of readings in the Commons, Committee and reports, the Lords and Minister's questions; the tradition and ceremony in Parliament; and changes brought by the role of Select Committees and membership of the EEC. 4 February 1991
