| Description | Old Heads and Young Hearts, a comedy in five acts, was first performed at the Haymarket Theatre, London, on November 18th, 1844, with Charles Mathews in the role of Littleton Coke and Madame Vestris as Lady Alice. It was the last of Boucicault's plays to look back to Restoration comedy for its inspiration; after Old Heads he turned to melodrama.
Material for this play includes photographs, publicity material and letters to Christopher Calthrop regarding a production of the play. There is material from six productions of this play, from 1844-1980. |
