| Description | Sheet music for piano and voice, titled "The Midnight Train", appearing as two bifold folio sheets (8 pages total). The front cover depicts a series of events which occur on a midnight train. In the top left scene, Charles Godfrey is sitting on the train reading a newspaper, and is looking up behind him towards the next carriage, with the subtitle "Ha! They're kissing.". The second panel shows Charles sitting on his knees on the seat, looking towards the next carriage, with the subtitle "Hullo! They're having a row. He's going to murder her.". The next panel shows an illustration of the outside of the train. The circular panel below this shows Charles climbing along the outside of the train to reach the next carriage, with the wind blowing his hat off, and the subtitle "To the rescue.". The final panel shows a man and a woman in a heated argument, with Charles reaching towards the woman saying "I will save you", but the woman is leaning away from him, saying "Go away, We're rehearsing". |
