DescriptionBetween Oliver Smith (of Gads Hill, Gillingham, Kent) (Barge Owner), The Second Chatham Investment Building Society (established at Chatham, Kent). Society lends Smith £150, with lands and property as security.
NotesUnderneath signature: Additional note in new hand and ink, stating that The Second Chatham Investment Building Society have received all moneys intended by the agreement. The society’s seal (a circular impress on the page to the right of the following signatures) was given to this note on 12th May 1898 by order of the Board of Directors. It is signed by two Directors and the Secretary.
