| Description | In 2004, Baring Foundation and John Ellerman Foundation agreed to collaborate with joint international funding of charitable work in sub-Saharan Africa, establishing the International Development Programme. Initially, it was agreed that the collaboration would extend for three grant years, until 2007, but was extended until 2013. The overall aim of the Programme was:
to improve the capacity and effectiveness of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community-based organisations (CBOs) in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on problems arising from the long-term migration and displacement of people, typically when caused by political, economic and environmental circumstances. |
