Item 2 -- a photocopy of an article in the Westmeath Independent (Oct. 7, 1905), titled "Dion Bourcicault [sic] / Was he Illegitimate? / Irrefutable Evidence to the Contrary"; the article includes a transcript of the will of Dion Boucicault's father, Samuel Smith Boursiquot; it is accompanied by notes from the sender of the article to Calthrop;. Item 6 -- 1 letter from a Dublin correspondent, informing Calthrop of a negative result of the search of the register of St. Thomas's Church, Dublin, for the record of Boucicault's birth (only scorched, not destroyed);. Item 7 -- 2 letters from correspondents at United Westminster Schools and the Westminster School informing Calthrop that there are no records showing that he attended "Old Westminsters", but pointing out that does not disprove his attendance; one letter cites Charles Kemble's son's entry in the school record as a sample; |
| The letters are from the following correspondents -- Helen Matthew (Chambers's Encyclopaedia), Rev. George Dawson, A. J. L. Cahill (registrar at University College London), R. J. Kerr, and W. M. Lyons. |
