Content includes an example of research being carried out - story identified as Gerald Gage; or, The Secret, and traced to ILN, serialised in 9 parts between 10th January and 14th March 1846; n.b. the story was later re-issued in Light & Darkness, 1850. It was also re-published as 'The money-seekers' in a penny publication alongside other tales, see copy in Crowe Album box.
