| Description | Written on verso: 'Saturday, 4th May 74. A final fling from Corfu - this is one of the famous midsummer red sunsets, but the view is taken from the West coast of the island, not the East - of which no similar cards are available. Nevertheless, when she wrote of the Albanian mountains, Mrs. C. probably had something in her mind's eye like the purple ridge or spur (far distance on right). It has been lovely here in spite of unsettled weather. G.L.' |
