| Description | Written on accompanying note: 'The Grave, in Cheriton Road Cemetery, Folkestone, of Mrs. C.A.CROWE. The Monument is in the immediate foreground, and consists of a stone slab 5 ft. 10 in. x 2 ft. 5 in., flush with the ground, upon which rests a plain rectangular block 5 ft. x 1 ft. 7 in. x 9 in. Inscription is as follows: - Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Catherine Ann CROWE Widow of Lieut. Col. John Crowe K. H. late 32nd. Regt. who died June 14, 1872, aged 82. At the foot of the block is the word Baker - presumably the name of the Engraver. Photographed August 1971 by Geoffrey Larken.' |
