Admin historyThe Lupino famly were a British theatre family. The Lupino name is actually derived from two unrelated families (the original Lupino (or Luppino) faily who originated in Italy and came to England during 17th century, and the later Hook family, who assumed the name Lupino (Ida Lupino and Lupino Lane both descend from the Hook line) after George Hook worked with the members of the original Lupino family. The surname Lane was also assumed by several of the Hook family, taking it from the director of the Brittania Theatre, Howton, Sarah Lane (a relation). Two of George Hook Lane's children married into the Sarah Lane family.
