DescriptionThe souvenir programme for the pantomime Cinderella which ran at the Palace Theatre, Reading, between 26th December 1953 and 4th January 1954. The year is not given in the booklet, but there is an advertisement in the bookley for the Olympia Pantomime ball in January 1954. The front cover depicts a blue and red illustration of Cinderella running down the stairs away from the ball, leaving the glass slipper, as the clock in the top left corner strikes midnight. The text on the cover reads: 'Souvenir Programme of Cinderella at the Palace Theatre, Reading. Price 6d.' It contains a cast list, synopsis of scenes, photographs of the performers, and some adverts.
NotesRecord created by volunteers during the Cinderella Archive Listing project in 2023-24
In the cast list, 'Penelope (a jolly little Horse)' is listed as playing 'Himself'. It is unclear whether this was a real horse. Penelope has not been listed as a 'Related Person' in my cataloguing.
