| Description | Black and white post card photograph of the Deanery, Canterbury, taken from the Precincts. The post card is und and has no stamp, but has on the reverse a child's drawing of a house with figures in two of the windows labelled Mrs Edwards and Miss Edwards, also a fish in the sea (?) and the message "with love from Mary". It was presumably given to them some time between Nowell's first visit to Canterbury in the early 1930's and her marriage to Hewlett in 1938. There are a further 19 copies of this post card at JOH/PC045 - 065, not catalogued separately, all unused except JOH/PC065 which has not been sent, but has the name Harold Johnson written on the reverse. |
