DescriptionProfessionally developed photographs of Canterbury, dating from the 1930’s through to the 1980’s.

The archive consists of approximately 2000 professionally developed photographs of various sizes. Includes 40-50 original folio size aerial photographs taken by Ordinance Survey. The archive has a strong focus on World War 2 and shows the citys buildings before the war, the damage that occurred during the Baedeker raids in 1942, and the rebuilding after the war.

Admin historyThe collection was donated to the Oxfam Bookshop in Canterbury by local historian Paul Crampton. Some of the photographs were published in various publications authored by Paul Crampton. Some photographs were inherited from the remnants of the Fiske Moore collection (a former photographic studio in Canterbury).
