| Description | Sheet music for piano and voice titled, “I’ll forgive him”, appearing as two folio sheets (total 8 pages). Cover depicts, in lithograph, the performer dressed casually and waving “farewell” on the deck of a ship with a trunk with his name on. Two inset scenes, one of a wife punching her husband with the caption “don’t darling, I give you “best”. The other depicts a man brandishing his fist with the caption, “as I can’t touch ‘im for “oof”, I’m just a goin’ to touch ‘im on the nose”. The lyrics of the chorus are also included: She comes home tight on Saturday night, and tumbles me over with left and right; she thumps me here , and thumps me there – the world is wide, and she’s too good for me – farewell, my bride! I’m off across the sea. |
