| Description | Sheet music for piano and voice titled, “The Marble Arch” appearing as two folio sheets (8 pages total). Cover depicts, in lithograph, the performer standing in front of a large decorated arch way. It is raining and he wears a long coat and top-hat and is holding an umbrella. Behind him a group of children are moving towards him and one of them is saying, ‘Please sir, mother’s sent us to say she can’t come.’ Lyrics of the chorus are also depicted: “At the Marble Arch, at the Marble Arch, just as the clock struck ten, Muggins was waiting for Flossie dear, But Flossie dear was nowhere near, The Marble Arch, the Marble Arch; while he waited patiently, His Flossie was frying a three-farthing egg, for her old man’s tea.” |
