| Description | Sheet music for piano and voice titled, “Oh! Jemima Mary Jane” appearing as two folio sheets (8 pages total). The cover depicts, in lithograph, the performer in evening dress and top-hat. Three scenes are depicted, one of the title character looking prim and innocent with the caption, ‘So simple and good’, another shows a jewellers shop, the jeweller with his back turned and Jemima Mary Jane taking an item from an open display case on the counter, the caption reads: ‘This simple little thing sneaked a lovely diamond ring Oh! – Jemima Mary Jane.’ The final image depicts a man standing, facing the viewer with arms spread as if preaching. Jemima Mary Jane, in the foreground, with her back to the viewer, has her arms outstretched and is saying, ‘What Ho! Captain’ as two members of the congregation between look round, startled. The caption reads, ‘She tries to mash the captain.’ |
