| Description | Sheet music for piano and voice titled, “The heavy swell of the sea” appearing as two folio sheets (8 pages total). The performer is depicted, in lithograph, on the cover wearing a sailor-style suit with a rather dandy shirt and tie, and a straw boater set at a jaunty angle. He stands on a beach with a small dog at his heel and the sea behind. A man in the backgrounding is pointing up at the sky. Lyrics of a chorus are depicted: “The fellows look upon me with a jealouse [sic.] eye, The ladies all adore me as I saunter by, They titter and they blush, then after me they rush, the heaviest of heavy seaside swells am I.” |
