The front cover features figures of children climbing over the title banner and four small vignettes, labelled “Jes because I owed a little over fifty two weeks rent in ‘ops the Broker’s Man”, “Yus, ‘e ‘ad me out orl the day an’ now ‘e’s bilked me (the poorgee-gee says thorley all the way home.)”, “We spent our honeymoon at Barking Creek”, and “Up in the Gallery”, surrounding a lithograph of Harry Randall, holding a cane and wearing a bowler hat. All four stanzas are listed on the inside back cover. Four songs by Hattie Starr are advertised in miniature on the inside front cover. |
