The front cover features four vignettes, labelled “Winner, Lost”, “Waiting for the Brewery to Open (I advertised that bunghole the brewer would give away beer)”, “Blowing up the copper with a bob’s worth of powder”, and “On reaching home minus his screw he gets a lightning result on his nob”, surrounding a lithograph of Harry Randall carrying a cane and about to speak. The publisher’s stamp appears at the bottom right corner. The first page attributes the arrangement to Henry E. Pether. |
