| Description | Research file compiled by Max Tyler about the performer George Leybourne, aka Champagne Charlie (b. 1842, d.1884). Containing:
3 photographs of the gravestone of George Leybourne and the Chevalier family in Abney Park Cemetary in London, 1 photograph of the grave of Nelly Power (a performer aslo buried at Abney Park Cemetary).
Black and white photograph of Christopher Beeching dressed as Champagne Charlie in 1984. The photograph is credited to Dan Savident (son of John Savident) and was taken for the first production of Beeching's show 'Champagne Charlie', performed at the Intimate Theatre Palmers Green, 24th July to 28th July 1984. The show was also performed on September 16th 1984 at London’s then Mayfair Theatre, to mark the centenary of Leybourne’s death.
