Stamped vertically on back in blue ink is ‘Kenneth Redfern & Co., Solicitors, 57, Balmoral Rd., Gillingham, Kent’. Situated horizontally on the back, to the right of the blue ink stamp, is another mark stamped in purple ink. It forms a box with a crown over the top centre of it, and reads ‘POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK, ‘RECIEVED 15.4 42’ [sic] and ‘REF. NO. 1913 c/42DeB’. The date and reference number are filled in by hand in faded blue ink .
