‘Charles Talbot out of the great love and affection which he bears towards his Grandniece the said Lilian Beatrice Rumsey and towards the said Samuel Gurney Rumsey her husband hath agreed to forgive and release the said debt of five thousand five hundred pounds so due to him […] upon the express condition insisted on by him’ that Lilian convey the said properties to herself and Samuel as joint tenants (Samuel no longer has to pay rent[?]), and that all the plants, glasshouses, and personal chattels (most of which were Samuel’s property) which were conveyed to Lilian by the Indenture of 27th September 1887 shall be given to Samuel as his absolute property alone.
At the base of Indenture: Signed, sealed and delivered by Charles Talbot, Lilian Beatrice Rumsey, and S. Gurney Rumsey.
