| Description | 1: Indenture between Walter Strouts and Henry Hooker about No's 9 and 11 East Street, Sittingbourne. £545 to Walter Strouts from Henry Hooker.
2: Copy of letter (typed) from Emmerson, Brown and Brown Solicitors to Kenneth Redfern and Co. About lease of property 11 East Street, Sittingbourne.
3: Indenture/Mortgage no. 9 and 11 East Street Sittingbourne. Henry Hooker and Henry Pell. Henry Pell paid Henry Hooker £200 on 6th March 1886, and £250 on 8th June 1883.
4: Reconveyance on no. 9 and 11 East Street, Sittingbourne. Henry Pell ('of Oakfield House') to Henry Hooker ('Leather Merchant').
5: Henry Hooker to William James Harris, mortgage to secure £2100 and interest. Stamped with Land Registry Middlesex Deeds Department. Mentions insurance (of at least £700) against damages by fire. 6: Letter from the solicitors of Alfred Sage to William James Harris, concerning the indenture dated 14th December 1895 between Henry Hooker and Alfred Sage, and the sum of £350 and interest.
7: Second mortgage to secure £350 and interest, document sent from Henry Hooker to Alfred Sage. The same document also contains and indenture between Alfred Sage and Mrs Elizabeth Anne Hooker dated 2nd September 1911, and the transfer of a mortgage from Alfred Sage to Elizabeth Anne Hooker on 25th September 1911. On reverse of document is a note acknowledging receiving £350 signed Elizabeth Anne Hooker and dated 24th December 1919.
8: Statutory declaration of Henry Payne about the deceased Henry Hooker. Written in first person of Henry Payne ('of Trotts Hall Sittingbourne', a 'banker') stating he's well acquainted with deceased and family for fifty years. States Henry Hooker (deceased) occupation as 'Currier ond Leather Dresser'. Typed, formatted as a numbered list. States: Henry Hooker married Jane Beecher on 3rd September 1855 in Yalding, Kent. They had two sons '(besides daughters)', Henry Beecher Hooker (born 13th July 1866, died 8th October 1897) and Mathew Trevan Hooker (born 5th April 1873, 'died a Bachelor' 24th July 1900 - 'Bachelor' twice underlined in pencil, no other annotations). First son, Henry Beecher Hooker married Elizabeth Anne Jessop on 23rd October 1893 in Holy Trinity Church, Maidstone. They had one son Henry Richard Hooker, born 25th September 1894. Jane (Beecher) Hooker died 1st August 1899 (in her husband's lifetime). Henry Hooker died on 12th February 1911 'interstate leaving the said Henry Richard Hooker him surviving his heir-at-law and in gavelkind'. States he's been shown all birth/death/marriage certificates. Signed by Henry Payne, witness signature illegible, but followed with 'A Commissioner for Oaths'.
9: 'conveyance' from the representative of Henry Hooker (deceased) to Henry Richard Hooker. Lists Henry Hooker's estate (including tenants and who he purchased properties from). Also an indenture between Alice Johnson and Richard Henry Hooker about the estate.
10: Indenture between Stephen Masters and John Masters and Stephen Court about a one year lease of land in Sittingbourne.
11: Indenture between Henry Richard Hooker ('motor engineer') and Elizabeth Ann Hooker ('widow'), about mortgage of No's 9 and 11 East Street Sittingbourne (Henry the 'mortgager', Elizabeth the 'mortgagee'), Elizabeth lending Henry £450.
12: Transfer of mortgage from Henry Payne (bank manager) to Sydney Boulding (butcher) and Albert Edward Wood (bricks manufacturer) of No's 82 and 82 High Street and 9 and 11 East Street, Sittingbourne. Henry Richard Hooker referred to as 'the borrower'. References RB/DOC/LT/190/5, RB/DOC/LT/190/10, and an Indenture of Transfer between William James Harris and Henry Payne dated 25th April 1895. | PhysicalDescription | 1: Approx 70x53cm unfolded. Handwritten, two seals, one being red wax. In good condition, though stiff so difficult to fully unfold.

4: Approx 53x40cm unfolded. Handwritten. Wax seals and three postage stamps
.5: Approx 47.5x60cm unfolded. Handwritten. Wear and discolouration, especially around edges and corners. One leaf (approx. 47.5x30cm) inside folded outside, originally secured with green fabric binding which was cut off to clean possible mould along folds. Possible mould cleaned 19/05/2026 - white, chalky sort of powder. Do sign of active mould or spore pattern. Originally smaller document (6) attached with a metal nail to top left corner.
6: Approx 20x32cm, paper handwritten letter. Originally attached to (5) with metal nail (removed) so some discolouration/damage to top left corner due to this.
7: Approx 60x48cm when unfolded. Handwritten (appears different sections written by different people). Annotations and sentences crossed out in December 1893 section in blue pencil. Some yellowing and discolouration. Red stamp of Land Registry Middlesex Deeds Department. Also a stamp of Memorial Registered (possibly with date 10th January 1894).
8: Approx 38x50cm when completely unfolded. Contained several other tightly folded documents inside first fold - birth/marriage/death certificates, filed as RB/DOC/LT/190/8/HP[numbered1-9]. Some discolouration including from old rubberband. Otherwise very good condition structurally. Typed with hand written date, location and signatures. red stamp two shillings and six pence.
9: Approx 52x40cm when unfolded. Two large pieces of paper, both folded in half and secured with green binding to form a booklet. Lined paper on the inside. Fairly good condition, some discolouration including on outside from old rubberband. Ten shilling red postage stamp.
10: Approx 61x40cm when unfolded. Lined paper, handwritten, signed by John Masters and Stephen Masters. Some discolouration, especially around the edges, otherwise good condition.
11: Approx 22x28cm. Bound by green string along left edge to make a booklet. Lots of discolouration along the front bottom edge. Some tears along edge. Faintly lined, handwritten, red margins. Some annotations, words crossed out and replaced. Red stamp for twelve shillings and sixpence. Signed by Henry Richard Hooker and a solicitor (name illegible).
12: Approx 53x40cm when unfolded. Some discoloration. Handwritten. Red stamp for five shillings. Four red wax stamps (stamped with the letter 'H') next to signatures of Henry Payne and Henry Richard Hooker, not all fully intact.
