| Description | 1: Mortgage for properties in Gillingham, to secure £50 and interest. Mr John Swan and his wife Eleanora (Ellen) Swan to George Brindley Acworth.
2: Reconveyance of hereditaments and premises at Eastcourt in Gillingham, Kent. Between James Acworth (of Bradford, York), and Revd William Pelham Acworth (of Christ Church Parsonage, Glouster) and James Vincent Bell (of Rochester, Kent), and Charlotte Emily Acworth (of Rochester, widow of William Pelham Acworth) and James Vincent Bell, and John William Swan (of no. 15 Prospect Row Chatham, Kent) and George William Swan (of no. 36 Connaught Road, Chatham, a wheelwright).

10: Two documents, both seem to be part of larger document/s. First is Caroline Mannering signing in favour of William Henry Johnson "and his wife" as tenants of cottages No. 5 and 6. Also references the 8th August 1953 morandum by conveyance between Ellen Maud Johnson and Frank Balmer and Sylvia Majorie Balmer about No. 6 John's Place. Second document the month of the date isn't clear. Caroline Mannering signing to acknowledge that Betty Hatton has the same rights as her to the documents of the title of No. 5 John's Place. |
| Notes | 2: John William Swan and George William Swan are the sons of John Swan and Eleanora Jane Swan (their six other children died in infancy). John Swan died 27th April 1873. Joseph Acworth died 1st September 1876. Also mentions Susannah Acworth who, along with James Acworth the younger, were the executors of 86 pounds, 14 shillings and 4 pence as appointed by Revd James Acworth ('the elder').
3: Mentions William Reed, William Mitchell (possibly the same person), John Cleaves, Thomas Hawkes (possibly a tenant or past tenant) and Thomas Randall (tenant of cottage known as the fourth house).

2: Approx. 72x55cm when unfolded. Handwritten, lined, red margins. Two sheets of paper, secured along the bottom edge. Six red wax stamps next to six signatures.
3: Approx. 73x52cm when unfolded. Handwritten, lined, red margins. Good condition. 3x red wax stamps by John William Swan and George William Swan's signatures. One red postage stamp for ten shillings.
4: Approx: 53x40cm when fully unfolded. Handwritten, red margins. 2x wax stamps by signatures. Red postage stamp for 7 shillings 6 pence. Stamped with 'SOMERSET HOUSE 3DEC 1914'. Good condition.
5: Approx. 40cm x 32cm. Typed with blue ink handwritten annotations. Some bet corners and some discolouration. Generally good condition. Secured with metal pin (removed). Smaller piece of paper attached with rusting stapple (removed and replaced with brass paperclip), some discolouration around hole.
6: Approx. 33x20cm. Printed form filled in with blue pen, handwritten. Red ink stamp "NO SUBSISTING ENTRIES ON THE FOLLOWING DATE 10 FEB 1959 LONDON". Single sheet of paper, delicate but good condition.
7: Approx. 53x40cm when fully unfolded. Red margins, typed. Folded. Green ribbon was securing folded side, woven through five pairs of holes, now removed. Replaced with brass paperclip to secure smaller paper with plan diagram to main document. Red wax seal next to Betty Hatton's signature. Good condition.
8: Approx. 36x17cm. Delicate, thin paper. Otherwise good quality.
9: Approx. 33x21cm. Staple in top left corner, removed and replaced with bronze paperclip. Some discolouration. Generally good condition.
10: Both approx. 33x21cm. Folded. Typed. Both signed by Caroline Mannering. Second document had a six pence postage stamp. Some discolouration. |
