| Description | Contains a red photograph album with images of John Ellerman II and Esther Ellerman as young children. Many of the photographs are reproductions printed onto card with typed captions. Photographs includes John Ellerman II at St Bede's School (1919 and 1921), the residence of the de Solas in Montreal, Clarence Isaac de Sola (Esther's father), Esther on her wedding day (1933), Esther and Sir Ian Fraser (1945-55), Rosetta, Jessica, and "Muzzy"; Esther, her mother, and friends at the Dorchester Hotel, and an array of photographs with family and friends in Eastbourne, Cape Town, and Lisbon. Also included are photographs aboard the Volvo ship (1939) the City of Manchester (1958), the City of Hull, the City of Birmingham (1963) and photographs of Aunt Ida (Butlin?), Anne Elizabeth Ellerman (John Ellerman I's mother), George Borwick, Bellmoor Investment Trust Group. In the back of the album are photocopies of polaroid pictures including Esther Ellerman and photocopies of a framed painting: The Discovery of Algoa Bay by Ellis Silas with the caption "City of Port Elizabeth". |
